An Analysis of Some Cu(I) Sulphates in Binary Mixtures of Dimethylsulphoxide with DimethylforMamide and Dimethylacetamide using Transport Property Measurement at 298K
Viscosities of a number of electrolytes have been measured in the composition range (50-400)x10-4moldm-3in binary mixtures of DMSO with DMA and DMF containing 0, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 mol % of co-solvent at 298K. The viscosity data have been analyzed by the Jones-Dole equation to evaluate A& B coefficients. The A coefficients agree well with the theoretical values in literature. The B-coefficients for the electrolytes are positive and have been split up into the contribution of individual ions (B+ and B- values) using a model proposed by Gill and coworkers. An examination of the B+ and B—coefficientsasa function of co-solvent composition indicates preferential solvation of [Cu(AN)4]+, [Cu(BN)4]+, [Cu(Phen)2]+, [Cu(DMPhen)2]+, [Cu(Bipyridyl)2]+, [Cu(TU)4]+, Bu4N+, Ph4B-in DMA & DMF richregions.
