Analysis of Risk and Return of Stocks of Selected Private Sector Banks in BSE

Abstract

The stock market refers to public markets that exist for issuing, buying, and selling stocks that trade on a stock exchange. Stocks, also known as equities, represent fractional ownership in a company, and the stock market is a place where investors can buy and sell ownership of such. Investors generally invest in shares with the objective of earning higher return but higher return can be earned only when you take higher risk.  The present study is deliberate to examine the recital selected Stocks of Public Sector Banks listed in Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The banking sector plays a magnificent role in an economy for the smooth as well as efficient functioning of the different activities of the society. The role of banks in promoting the economic and social welfare for the betterment and advancement of the life of the community is well recognized. The Indian economy is yet to strengthen the Indian banking system continuously to deal with improvement in asset quality, execution of sensible risk management practices and capital adequacy. Hence it is expected that with favorable policies by RBI, banking sector will bounce back in the near future.
